PDF Format Requirements

  • Questions must be numbered: 1. or Q1. or Q.1 or 1)
  • Options must be: (a) (b) (c) (d) or a) b) etc.
  • Answer key: patterns like 1-B, 1. B, 1) b are all supported
  • The PDF must have selectable text (not a scanned image)
  • After import, the test is automatically set as active free mock test

  • Sections auto-assigned: Q1–40 → Reasoning, Q41–70 → General Knowledge, Q71+ → English
  • Embedded images extracted from PDF using pdfjs-dist (no manual upload needed)
  • Images saved to /question-images/ and linked to questions in DB
  • Short / figure-based questions detected automatically and tagged with has_image = true
  • Scanned PDFs (no text) detected — shows this warning and manual entry fallback
  • Small decorative images (<30×30px) are ignored
